The Kayak Trip is ideal for sporty couples, groups of friends, and solo travelers aged 16 and above.
Because of daily endurance requirements on open water, this expedition is not suitable for children under 16. Solo adventurers join every week and find a welcoming, adventurous community on the water.
Flight bookings through us include one carry-on bag plus a personal item (max. 12 kg combined) and one checked luggage.
Carry-on bags may measure up to 55 x 35 x 25 cm, while checked luggage (up to 23 kg) can be added to your reservation. We recommend packing under 15 kg for easier kayak loading, and spare luggage can stay safely locked at basecamp.
You will camp in tents for seven nights along the fjords, with sanitary facilities available at basecamp and midway through the trip.
The first and last nights are spent at the Fresvik basecamp with full hot showers and flushing toilets. While wild campsites along the Nærøyfjord are pure wilderness, you visit a fully equipped campsite midweek to freshen up.
No, choosing a specific kayak route during booking is completely optional.
You may select a preference between the beginner-friendly Nærøy route and the active Aurlands route when reserving, or finalize your decision after the guide briefing on site.
Exploring the Norwegian fjords alone by kayak isn’t easy. However, with the support of our experienced kayak guides and the Travelbase app, the adventure is within reach.
Additionally, you can choose to rent a food pack and camping gear from us, so you don’t have to bring anything yourself.
In just one week, you’ll get to see the most beautiful highlights of the Nærøyfjord.
Surrounded by steep cliffs and crystal-clear water, you’ll enjoy the majestic beauty of the fjords from your kayak. During the hikes, you’ll experience breathtaking views of untouched Norwegian nature.
Since The Kayak Trip isn’t the easiest journey to plan completely on your own, you’ll get a well-balanced week itinerary included.
We create the ideal schedule for both routes, with plenty of variety between hiking and paddling. In the end, you decide how many hikes to add to your trip and how intense each day will be.
Sleep in the heart of nature, with the gentle lapping of the fjord as your background music. On The Kayak Trip, your tent is your hotel room and the starry sky is your view.
